# Understanding of Pricing Model

This article explores different pricing models for SaaS products. When preparing your SaaS offering for AWS Marketplace, you must select a pricing model from the options listed below. This choice will determine the purchasing process for buyers.

## **SaaS Pricing Models**

SaaS offers are structured around three pricing models: SaaS subscriptions, SaaS contracts, SaaS contracts with pay-as-you-go.

| **Pricing model** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| SaaS subscriptions (Usage Based) | Buyers are charged a per-unit price for their hourly usage of your product. AWS Marketplace calculates usage based on the metering records you provide. | SaaS contracts (Contract-based pricing) | Buyers are either billed in advance for the use of your software, or you can offer them a flexible payment schedule. Customers can also pay for additional usage above their contract. | SaaS contracts with pay-as-you-go (Contract with consumption) | Combines contract-based pricing and usage-based pricing. ## **Purchasing Options**

Specify how you want buyers to be able to purchase your product.

1. **Multiple dimensions per contract**

Buyers can purchase their desired quantities of units for each pricing dimension that you define.
2. **Single dimension per contract**

Buyers can choose from a list of tiered pricing dimensions to purchase their desired tier or volume of units.
