# Creating a team from Scratch and add a channel

In this article, we will explain on how to create a team from scratch and to add a Channel.

## Create a team from scratch and add a Channel Follow the steps below for Creating a team and to add a channel :

1. Click on **Your teams and channels** on the left side of the app, then select **create team** at the top right corner.
2. Name your team and add a description(optional), select Team type.
3. Name your channel.
4. When you're finished, click Create.
